At Quest Counseling and Consulting, we recognize that perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) encompass a range of mental health conditions that may first appear during the perinatal period, which includes the time during pregnancy and up to one year after childbirth. These conditions, such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and psychosis, can significantly impact daily functioning and affect a parent’s ability to care for themselves and their baby confidently.

For many, seeking help for perinatal mental health challenges can feel overwhelming due to the stigma, fear of judgment, and feelings of shame or guilt. At Quest, we understand the unique emotional and psychological hurdles that come with pregnancy and parenthood. Our dedicated team of perinatal mental health specialists and clinicians collaborate to offer compassionate and comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s needs. While "baby blues" affect up to 70-80% of parents and typically subside within a few weeks, PMADs—affecting 15-20% of parents—can develop during pregnancy or up to a year postpartum and often present more severe and long-lasting symptoms. These may include persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, or even psychosis. Early intervention and support are key, and we are here to help parents navigate these challenges.

Why?

While many parents experience some mild mood changes during or after the birth of a child, 15 to 20% of women experience more significant symptoms of depression or anxiety. Please know that with informed care you can prevent a worsening of these symptoms and can fully recover.

Who Can Access Services?

Our perinatal services are available to pregnant and parenting individuals of any age. We treat those who face challenges related to both perinatal mental health and/or substance use, ensuring comprehensive care tailored to your unique needs.
